Join us in our efforts
The archeological site “Stari Vinogradi” is of great proportions. Archeological excavations on this site will continue for generations to come, in a greater volume and with more appropriate means we hope, as well as with greater knowledge and experience. For this undertaking to have continuity, we need to round up the immense task undertaken, both with field research and with an extensive processing of the dug out material. This entails filed work, drawing, photographing, conservation and various analyses of thousand of excavated objects that will find their place in monographs and a large exhibition, planned to arise from the years of work put in.
The treasure of “Stari Vinogradi” is a part of the European cultural heritage. We would like to preserve it for posterity and make it available to the entire world. In the preservation of “Stari Vinogradi”, apart from that of professionals, a huge amount of time, effort, knowledge and capability has been invested by many student volunteers as well. From this investment many of them have drawn new knowledge and experience, and some also gained independence in their work. We would like to continue this practice, and so invite for cooperation:
- archeological institutions outside of Serbia interested in forming a partnership with the Vojvodina Museum from Novi Sad ,
- Archeology students from all universities interested in taking part in archeological excavations and processing the findings from “Stari Vinogradi”,
- Experts and student volunteers from other professions that might take part in the overall explorations (biologists, botanists, geophysicists, sketch artists, photographers, conservers …),
- Amateur volunteers interested in taking part in the archeological explorations.
